John, it could be something other than a maple… I’m terrible at ID’ing that stuff. I didn’t realize houses had been moved for the shopping ce7nvr.I̵t;ee lived in this town all my life, and there are so many things I don’t know about its history, etc. You know way more than I do, and are way more active in day-to-day activities than I am. For a non-native, I’d say you’re doing pretty well. I really, really wish I had a picture of that tree from the old DQ site, but I don’t. The same goes for the old woolen mill.
