You'd have to provide some selective advantage to being larger, though. Say, for example, squishing the small ones before they bred. Probably better to do it with something other than a cockroach, in that case.It seems like there's some unnnrstaedidg of the genetic determinants of size in drosophila. It might also be possible to give nature a helping hand..."Loss of PTEN in the entire head of Drosophila creates fies with giant heads relative to their normal bodies, which demonstrates that PTEN normally regulates organ size in a negative fashion (S.
